Islam is a religion for the people who are ready to think, to understand, to question (with an intention to understand) and to explore; who are ready to get convinced, accept the truth; who are ready to change themselves, their thoughts, deeds and their life in line with the teachings of Almighty! For these, the one and only basic is 'KNOWLEDGE'!! Constant and continuous learning, practising and spreading...!!
The first thing Allah (سبحانه و تعالي) did for Prophet Adam (عليه السّلام) was to teach him the names and qualities of the different things {!!things has got a very vast meaning here which only Allah(سبحانه و تعالي) knows!!)}!
And the first thing told to our Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ) by Angel Jibra'il (عليه السّلام) was nothing, but 'TO READ in the name of your LORD, who CREATED!! Quran has asked its readers 'why don't you think/understand' so many times that the importance of thinking and reasoning is stressed again and again!!
